I have been meaning to go to Norma’s for over 2 years and this time I made it a mission to visit one morning for breakfast. Norma’s is part of the Parker New York Hotel located in midtown west and a real local experience in Manhattan – you’ll see locals, professionals and guests dining here and enjoying the laid back atmosphere. Understated yet impeccable service and great food. Norma’s serves breakfast or brunch until 3 pm so it is the perfect solution after a crazy night out in the city or a pitstop during meetings and shopping.
Breakfast at Norma’s is also a very American experience. You have tons of options when it comes to breakfast be it french toast, crepes, pancakes or eggs and beware – portions are massive. During my visit to New York I forgot about my no-sugar lifestyle and went right in for the pancakes! The photo below is self explanatory but I have to admit – they are one of the best I have ever had – London cannot do pancakes this way.
I loved the prompt and friendly service. It is sometimes hard to expect that in a hotel restaurant but Norma’s is welcoming and attentive. It’s location is also convenient for a day out of shopping off fifth avenue and visiting the likes of the MoMa.
Norma’s is an institution and a hidden gem so I wouldn’t miss it.
