Kelly Landesberg’s A.O.K Kitchen has a wonderful ethos and concept behind it which will make it a huge success for people looking to relax in Marylebone without any judgment behind what they choose to have and how much of it! When I met Kelly recently she told me about the concept behind A.O.K and what inspired her to launch the restaurant.
Kelly has worked on several leading projects globally including the Standard Hotel in New York and The Arts Club in London. Her eye for interior design, attention to detail and personal experience of being vegetarian and gluten intolerant, enabled her to create a space that welcomes everyone and offers them a wide choice. London is limited when it comes to a restaurant that is balanced. When you are looking for a gluten-free or vegan option you are likely to look up a restaurant that is specifically tailoring to that audience or vice versa. However, with A.O.K you have a wide choice of options when it comes to breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Personally, I am not a massive fan of mainstream sourdough and usually would avoid dishes with it. But the bakery and bread at A.O.K have won me over. I urge everyone to try the rumbled eggs with sourdough bread.
Additionally, you have the option of a bakery downstairs where you can drop in for a quick coffee and treat. The interiors, in my opinion, are very Mediterranean inspired and suit the London weather!
Kelly wanted to create a space that would transport you away from the day to day worries and hustle of London life hence the name A.O.K. The service and atmosphere at the restaurant are created to make you feel welcomed and at home which is extremely important and sometimes lacks in London. Having been a member of the Arts Club London and experienced their excellent service and customer relations, it was great to see familiar faces in A.O.K looking after their guests and recognizing them. This is key for customer loyalty and Kelly has nailed it!
